Khajjiar, Chamba View Hotels

Kye Gompa is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Gelugpa sect located on top of a hill at an altitude of 4,166 metres (13,668 ft) above sea level, close to the Spiti River, in the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, Lahaul and Spiti district, India. It is the largest monastery of the Spiti Valley and a religious training centre for lamas. It reportedly had 100 monks in 1855. The monastery is dedicated to Lochen Tulku, the 24th reincarnation of the great translator Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo. It is about 12 km north of Kaza and 210 km from Manali by road.

Bhimakali Mata Temple, Sarahan View Hotels

Bhimakali Temple is a Hindu temple at Sarahan in Himachal Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Bhimakali, the presiding deity of the rulers of the former Bushahr state. The temple is situated about 180 kms from Shimla and it is considered as holy as 51 shakti peethas.

HISTORY:

The temple was built in 13th century as a shrine dedicated to goddess Durga, locally known as Bhimakali, and is revered as one of the 51 sacred shakti peethas. She is the kuldevi of the rulers of the erstwhile Bushehr state. The temple is a popular pilgrimage site in Himachal Pradesh. Raja Padam Singh contributed towards rebuilding the temple in the 1920s. 

According to one legend, during Daksha Yagna, the Ear of Sati Devi fell here when Lord Vishnu cut the pieces of her body carried by heartbroken Lord Shiva. Other legend states that this area was under the rule of a Demon called Banasura, the great-grandson of king Prahlad an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. Due to the Usha-Anirudh affair, Lord Krishna fought here with him, and in this battle, Lord Siva stood against the former. The legend goes that the head of the defeated king Banasura was buried in front of the entry gate now marked as a raised platform to the first courtyard. After Banasura, Pradyumna son of Lord Krishna ruled this area. Then the ruling king constructed this temple recognizing Devi Bhimakali as the presiding deity of this area.

Keylong  is the district head quarters of Lahaul and Spifi. At an altitude of  3156 m. Keylong is situated on the main trade route between the Rohtang  and Baralacha passes above the Bhaga river. Most of the government  offices are located at Keylong. This is also the hub-centre of all  commercial activity with a regular bazaar. Naturally Keylong is the most  populated and busy village of the Lahaul valley. Manimahesh Kailash & Lake, Bharmour View Hotels

Manimahesh Kailash, also known as Chamba Kailash, is a mountain in the Himalayas, and one of the Panch Kailash mountains mentioned in Sanātana Dharma. At a height of 5,653 metres (18,547 ft), it stands high over the Manimahesh Lake, and is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, the Hindu deity. It is also believed that the Hindu deity Shiva's disciple Mani lives here, and that Shiva occasionally comes to this mountain for some time. It is located in the Bharmour subdivision of the Chamba district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is the fifth most important peak among the group of five separate peaks in Himalayas in separate locations collectively known as the Panch Kailash or "Five Kailashas", the others being Mount Kailash in first place, Adi Kailash in second, Shikhar Kailash (Shrikhand Mahadev Kailash) in third, and Kinnaur Kailash in fourth place in terms of importance.

Located at an altitude of 2730 mtr. Prashar is known for Prashar lake, sloppy meadows, dense forest and the panoramic view of snow clad ranges of Dhauladhar. The “Prashar Lake” which has perimeter of about 300 mtr. is decorated by a floating island in it. Its crystal clear water adds to the charm of this scenic spot. Traditionally, it is believed that the lake was formed as result of striking of rod (Gurj) by Rishi Prashar and water came out and took shape of the lake. An ancient Pagoda style temple dedicated to the Rishi Prashar, the patron God of Mandi region, stands besides the lake. The temple has been constructed by the King Ban Sen in 13-14th century with the Rishi being present in the form of a Pindi (stone). It is also said that the whole temple was built by using single deodar tree and it took 12 years to complete the temple construction. A walk around the lake gives a mystical experience of calmness of the surroundings. A visit to Parashar is a perfect blend of spiritual journey and exploring into the serene and beautiful Himalayan mountains. Several camping sites are also located here and it is the base for numerous easy & hard treks.People from Mandi and other adjoining Districts visit the place for worshiping Prashar Rishi and believe that their wishes shall be fulfilled by blessings of the Rishi. In the month of June “Saranauhali” fair takes place which is attended by large number of locals from Mandi and Kullu Districts.

Gobind Sagar Lake is a reservoir situated in Una and Bilaspur districts of Himachal Pradesh, India. Formed by the Bhakra Dam on the river Sutlej, the reservoir is named in honour of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh guru.
